Our name is inspired by Runes- ancient letters said to be of divine origin. These powerful symbols were believed to have the power to bring back the dead or divine the future. They told tales of great deeds and chronicled the past, present, and future.
In the spirit of ancient runes, Rune Wines has set out to shape the story of Arizona wine. Through wine’s craft, a story of time and place is bottled and consumed. Join us as our story continues to unfold.
Our first vintage was 2013 and our Sonoita, Arizona tasting room opened its doors in 2015. The Rune tasting experience is like no other. Weather allowing, we primarily taste outside under a shade canopy where we can enjoy panoramic 360 degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges and high desert grasslands. We are the only solar powered and off-grid tasting room and vineyard in Arizona, and we strive to run our business sustainably and with minimal impact.
